Yesterday I decided to take advantage of the surrounding environs and do a popular ranch hike I had previously neglected to do: Red Rocks, a 6.5 mile loop heading up a small creek and returning on the top of the creek's canyon.
The first photo is looking up Lewis Creek while the second is on the return trip looking down it.
Highlights included an aggressive garter snake, tons of moose scat and tracks but no moose, and some early spring wildflowers. The area around the creek is shaded, overgrown, and marshy-super moosey territory in other words. Despite the constant signs, there were no moose, which is just as well.
